Mustaches and How it all Began

I almost forgot what my husband’s mustache-less face looked like until I stumbled upon that wedding photo. Okay, that was a bit dramatic. It’s only been about a month since the mustache appeared… again. We can all thank Brig. Gen. Robin Olds for “Mustache March” and leaving us a legacy of mustachioed airmen in his wake. Sadly… it’s October. Don’t tell him he actually doesn’t look too shabby in that upper lipholstery.

Mustaches aside, this wife is thankful for her husband! While determined not to date anyone in the military, I met my to-be-husband, Joe, in the summer of 2015. An active-duty United States Air Force C-17 pilot.

That plan worked out well!

We dated through flying missions, a deployment, and a PCS to fabulous Altus, Oklahoma. We were married in Vegas in 2017, had a wedding ceremony in Charleston, South Carolina soon after, and honeymooned across Italy.

As an artist, custom picture framer, and in a master’s program for professional counseling, I had no idea what journey I was about to embark on. More exciting than some and less exciting than others. That’s where it all started.
